February is one of the best months to visit Orlando: mild weather, festivals at EPCOT and Universal, and the Daytona 500 an hour away. It's busier than January, though, especially around Presidents' Day. Here's what to expect in Orlando in February 2027.

Orlando weather in February

  • Highs: Low to mid 70s°F.
  • Lows: Low to mid 50s°F, sometimes colder on a clear night.
  • Rain: About 2.5 inches for the month, usually in short showers.

Most days are perfect for being outside. Mornings can start cool, so pack a light jacket. Resort pools are usually heated, but on a cool day a water park or the ocean feels cold to most people.

February 2027 events in and around Orlando

  • Through March 1: EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, January 15 to March 1, 2027. Food studios, art, and the Disney on Broadway concert series, included with EPCOT admission.
  • From February 6: Universal Mardi Gras, February 6 to March 27, 2027, at Universal Studios Florida, with parades and concerts on select nights. Included with a Universal Studios Florida ticket.
  • Saturday, February 6: Lunar New Year.
  • Tuesday, February 9: Fat Tuesday.
  • Sunday, February 14: Valentine's Day and the Super Bowl fall on the same day this year. Book dinner early. Ideas in our Orlando date night guide.
  • Monday, February 15: Presidents' Day. The holiday weekend is one of the busiest of the winter at the theme parks.
  • From February 17: Speedweeks at Daytona International Speedway.
  • Sunday, February 21: Daytona 500, about an hour from Orlando. It moved a week later than usual in 2027 to avoid the Super Bowl.
  • Just after: Florida Strawberry Festival, March 4 to 14, 2027, in Plant City, about 75 minutes west.

Manatee season

February is peak manatee season. When the rivers cool, hundreds of manatees gather in the warm springs. Blue Spring State Park in Orange City (about 45 minutes north) is the best place to see them from a boardwalk, and Crystal River is the only place in Florida where you can swim with them legally.

February crowds

  • Early February is moderate. The first week, before Mardi Gras starts and before the holiday weekend, is the calmest time of the month.
  • Presidents' Day weekend (February 13 to 15) is busy at every theme park.
  • Late February settles down a little before spring break starts in March.

What to pack

Layers. A February day in Orlando can start at 50°F and finish at 75°F. Bring a light jacket for evenings and early tours, sunscreen anyway, and closed shoes if you're planning a kayak or airboat trip.

February is great on the water

Cool weather is the best time to see alligators, which bask in the sun on cool days. Boggy Creek airboat tours run daily in Kissimmee, and the baby highland cows at Mini Moo Land will still be young. Both are 10% off through us.
